Clarisoft Technologies is happy to announce the hiring of Robert Haines, our new business development director, who started on August 1st 2011. Robert brings ten years of corporate sales and business development experience to Clarisoft Technologies. He has a strong background in selling enterprise-class hardware, software and middleware platforms, IT services and SaaS services. Having helped to grow the sales channels and partner programs for leading tech companies like Microsoft, Aventail (bought by SonicWALL), GoAhead Software, SourceLabs (bought by EMC Software) and Pro Softnet Corp, Robert now sets his sights on helping Clarisoft Technologies expand its sales operations for highly efficient onshore and offshore software outsourcing. Prior to his sales career, Robert earned his Bachelor’s degree in CIS (Computer Information Systems) from DeVry University in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated with honors.

In a list of common coding mistakes that affect security, SQL injection still ranks number 1. Some of the techniques we use to prevent these attacks are:
- using persistence layers such as Linq2SQL or Hibernate
- replace direct creation of SQL queries with prepared statements, or stored procedures with parameters.
- verify parameters both on the client side and server side
- run the code with lowest user privileges needed to accomplish the task.

Other common mistakes are:
- OS Command injection
- Classic buffer overflow
- Cross-site scripting, and
- Missing Authentication for Critical Function

Tic Tac Toe Genius is a fun and challenging combination of Tic Tac Toe and 4 in a row played on a 3-dimensional cube. Your goal is to place 4 O’s in a row before the computer does. You can create horizontal or vertical rows with squares from two faces of the cube.

Since the game is difficult to beat we called it Tic Tac Toe Genius. It is an excellent way to improve problem solving skills and memory.

Before the 2010 Christmas day, Clarisoft’s employees donated money to the organizer of “Our Big Day Out” event that helps children in need. The company was able to match our employees’ donation, so their contribution was doubled. We are proud of the generosity shown by our team. Thank You for your kindness, support and effort in putting together the 13th edition of Our Big Day Out- 18th &19th of December.

Every edition i feel like we will not be able to reach higher, every edition though, I am proven wrong. This Xmas we took out of institutions the highest number of children at Balonul Copiilor where we had 450 children.

Our efforts reached 1568 children, impoverished people, elderly living in shelters or retirees earning less than 400ron/month (ie: aprox $130/month). At Balonul Copiilor we had children from 22 institutions from Bucharest and Tincabesti, on Sunday we visited and personally offered presents to 276 children and elderly shelters from Bucharest, Tincabesti and Domnesti and we offered another 842 presents to other shelters and institutions, families living under extreme poverty in Bucharest and the outskirts and children living in isolated villages.

And this was not the end because the beauty of this activity is that it seems that it never ends. After the weekend of 18th and 19th of December, many of you continued to visit these children or the shelters and spend your time and even your holidays with them and many of you to this day, call us to get the addresses of the centers to visit them, play or spend your time with them, bring them clothing, food or toys.

Thank you for making all of this possible, thank you for offering this Xmas the pass to love, dream and hope, the feeling of care attention and affection to these souls that seem to have been forgotten by the society they actually belong to.

If you want to look outside the biggest players in the cloud computing (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle) then there are some other vendors with a great offering. Here are few coming platforms worth adding to your consideration list.

1. Rackspace cloud (formerly Mosso)
Offers a good combination of cloud hosting, cloud files (CDN optimized), and cloud servers. For the moment, Windows virtual servers are in beta.

2. GoGrid
GoGrid offers an interesting combination of virtual servers, cloud storage, dedicated servers, and hardware load balancers. For enterprise level, GoGrid has a hybrid hosting with dedicated physical hardware.

3. RightScale
Reighscale is a cloud management platform, and leverages Amazon EC2 to allow you more easily deploy and manage business-critical applications on the cloud.

These vendors offers a wide range of services and flexibility at a price point, giving users great choices for their needs.

jQuery is not just good, jQuery is great! At Clarisoft Technologies we used it because it saves lot of time, resulted code is much simpler, and there are many free components out there.

You can see how we used jQuery in our own web site:
